and what a loss he is. He joined on 1st February, 1883.
Mr. Gutierrez joined 29th December, 1882 and is thoroughly careful and hard working. I have never yet found Mr. Gutierrez wrong in anything he has to do.
Mr. Silva joined the Post Office in August 1890 from the Audit Office to which he was appointed on the 1st January, 1883. He is in the Money Order Office, is secured for $1000 and does his work efficiently.
Of Mr. P. Remedios I desire to speak in the very highest terms as a willing, careful and hard working officer. He joined on 1st June, 1888.
Mr. Allen becomes Marine Sorter at his own request and I think desires to get on and is willing to work. He joined 20th October, 1890.
of the $50 men I strongly recommend Mr. Sirdar Khan; he joined at a salary of $50 on 7th July, 1898; he knows his work and does his work without driving.
Mr. Lopes is the next best and does his work honestly but is very nervous and easily frightened.
Messrs. Abbas and Dalietto I should place next and then Messrs. Ribeiro and J. C. Remedios.
